• Vanity patch with lace detail is detachable, attached with snap buttons
• 3 pearl shank non functioning buttons on vanity patch
• Rushing done with elastic thread on the capped sleeves
• Visible armscye is bias binded for a clean finish

Details:

• Matched the plaids for the side seams, yoke to front pieces, back to yoke and collar to yoke.  Even the sleeve seams matched.
• The horizontal stripes are matching at the front
• But I think I still need work figuring out the centre front plakets.  I've read that they have to be mirror image but I think I'm missing something.
• Pocket is cut on the bias.
• All pieces are cut on unfolded fabric for accuracy in aligning the plaids.
• The shirt length is extended because the intended wearer is tall and skinny.

• I applied the elastic differently where I sew the waist band while the elastic is in the casing.  I find this is easier than pushing the elastic through after the waistband casing is sewn
• Love working with linen

Andre Shorts

Details:

• Added in-seam pockets in white muslin
• Amended pattern so that the sides are cut straight 
• I applied the elastic differently where I sew the waist band while the elastic is in the casing.  I find this is easier than pushing the elastic through after the waistband casing is sewn
• This 2 pair of shorts was couriered to my Dad and he has reported that it fits him well
• Love working with the cotton twill and I think I need to get me some more for my culottes

The cotton twill was very nice to work with

The black denim bled quite a lot

The fabric is lightweight and it drapes well too.  I love using contrasting fabrics for pockets.

The fabric was cut badly with a very pronounced slant.  Realized only after I came back :(  So I had to do some maneuvering with the pattern.  There was not enough fabric left for the inseam pockets but actually I prefer these contrasting fabrics instead, makes it rather quirky .

These are my TNT (tried and true) patterns.  It's easy because there are really no fuss about fitting as garter waist bands normally are.  I used a 1" wide elastic. I have another pair already sewn in black linen which feels really nice and 3 more pairs all cut.  These 4 pair of shorts will be longer in length and they'll be worn for home and going to the shops or the market nearby. Great everyday home wear.

Please forgive my clothes pin ... quite ugly indeed.  I am still looking  for some nice wooden skirt hangers :(
